Bath Time

Piko is dusted yellow with sticky pollen and doesn't want a bath, until bubbles, gentle splashes and a cozy towel win him over. A bath-time routine song with a grown-up right beside the tub, for ages 2–5.

Actions: Chorus: rub your tummy in circles on 'scrub, scrub, scrub', wrap your arms around yourself for the towel hug, then sway and puff your cheeks on 'glub-glub-glub' and splash your hands out wide on 'SPLOSH!'. Verse 1: wiggle all over like Piko, then hold out your arm to 'test the water'. Verse 2: pretend-scrub your arms, knees, tummy and toes; tip your head back and close your eyes for the rinse. Bridge: pat the air three times for the bubbles, little splashes with your fingers, then hold your grown-up's hand. Verse 3: step carefully on the spot, wrap and pat yourself dry, and swirl your finger down for the water going 'glug, glug'. Use the song at real bath time as a step-by-step routine, with your grown-up right beside the tub the whole time.

Chorus

Bath time! Bubble time! In the tub,
Grown-up close while we scrub, scrub, scrub!
Wash, then rinse, then wrap up snug,
Cozy towel, a big warm hug!
Rub-a-tub, glub-glub-glub!
Rub-a-tub, glub-glub-glub!
Rub-a-tub, glub-glub-glub... SPLOSH!

Verse 1

Piko's yellow, head to toe,
Sticky pollen! Oh, oh, oh!
Mama tests it with her arm:
Not too hot, just nice and warm!

Verse 2

Soapy sponge on arms and knees,
Tummy, back and toes, please!
Tip your head and close your eyes,
Rinse, rinse, rinse, the bubbles fly!

Chorus

Bridge

Pat the bubbles, pop, pop, pop!
Little splashes, plip, plop, plop!
Grown-up's here the whole bath through,
Right beside the tub with you!

Verse 3

Bath is done! Hold a hand,
Careful steps, on the mat we stand.
Fluffy towel, wrap and pat,
Glug, glug, all gone, just like that!

Chorus

Outro

Clean and cozy, rub-a-tub,
Glub-glub-glub... SPLOSH!
