Count Down to Cozy

After the Halloween party Piko can't stop bouncing, so Luma starts the slow-down game: count down from five while the porch lanterns dim one by one. A calm-down bedtime song for ages 2–5.

Actions: Chorus: sway slowly, breathe in deep on 'breathe in deep', then do the chant together: a small bounce on 'Bounce', a slow sway on 'slow', let your arms go floppy on 'flop' and put a finger to your lips on 'hush'. Verse 1: five big bounces, then four slow stretches up high, wiggling fingers and toes. Verse 2: three slow breaths: smell the flower (in through your nose) and blow the dandelion (out slowly through your mouth). Bridge: take off the costume or dress-up, fold it, and put the treats away for tomorrow. Verse 3: one big yawn, one warm hug, then snuggle down. Use it as the last song of a busy day, with the lights low and your voice soft.

Chorus

Party's over, moon is high,
Bouncy feet say bye-bye-bye.
Count down slowly, breathe in deep,
Cozy, cozy, time to sleep.
Bounce... slow... flop... hush.
Bounce... slow... flop... hush.
Bounce... slow... flop... hush.

Verse 1

Five big bounces, up and down,
Then the first lantern goes dim.
Four slow stretches to the moon,
Wiggle fingers, toes and chin.

Verse 2

Three deep breaths in through your nose,
Smell the flower, slow and sweet.
Blow the dandelion fluff,
Soft and floaty, light and neat.

Chorus

Bridge

Two more things: the costume off,
Fold the pumpkin, nice and round.
Treats can wait until tomorrow,
Pajamas on without a sound.

Verse 3

One big yawn and one warm hug,
Snuggle in your leafy bed.
Stars are twinkling, moon says hush,
Pillow soft beneath your head.

Chorus

Outro

Bounce... slow... flop... hush.
Cozy, cozy, time to sleep.
Goodnight... hush.
