Costume Parade

A buzzy bumblebee surprises Piko... it's Luma in her costume! Piko can't pick between a pumpkin and a star, so they check: can you see? Can you walk? A happy, not-spooky Halloween dress-up and parade song for ages 2–5.

Actions: Chorus: march on the spot with knees up high and wave hello. On 'it's still me!' point to yourself and smile. Chant: swish your hips side to side on 'Dress-a-dress! Swish-a-swish!', then throw your arms up and shout 'PARADE!'. Verse 1: cover your eyes with your hands on 'Floppy points', then pop them open on 'Eyes must peek out'. Verse 2: wobble side to side, then lift one foot high on 'Feet must step out'. Bridge: march, twirl around, flap like a bee, hop three times, then freeze in a pose. Verse 3: make a big round pumpkin with your arms. In the 'Again!' round, freeze in your costume pose whenever the music stops. Before a real parade, do the same check together: can you see out of it, and can you walk in it?

Chorus

Pumpkin, flower, star and bee,
Dress up, dress up, it's still me!
March along and wave hello,
Costume parade, here we go!
Dress-a-dress! Swish-a-swish!
Dress-a-dress! Swish-a-swish!
Dress-a-dress, swish-a-swish... PARADE!

Verse 1

Piko tries a yellow star,
Floppy points flop down so far!
Can he see? Oh no, oh no!
Eyes must peek out. Off it goes!

Verse 2

Pink flower petals, long and wide,
Piko wobbles side to side.
Can he walk? Oh no, oh no!
Feet must step out. Off it goes!

Chorus

Bridge

March, march, knees up high,
Twirl around and flutter by,
Buzz like bees and hop, hop, hop,
Strike a pose... and freeze! Stop!

Verse 3

Round and orange, pumpkin me!
I can walk and I can see!
Luma's stripes are yellow and black,
Buzz along the parade track!

Chorus

Outro

Pumpkin, flower, star and bee,
Dress-a-dress, swish-a-swish... PARADE!
