What Fruit Is Hiding?

Piko and Luma both want to carry the fruit basket. Tug, tug, oops! The fruit hides under big leaves, and they guess each one by its shape and color. A peekaboo fruit and colors song for ages 2–5.

Actions: Chorus: make a big round apple with your arms, a long curvy banana with one arm, a little bunch of grapes with your fingers, and a round orange with both hands; then rub your tummy and clap on 'one, two, three' and throw your hands up on 'YUM!'. Verse 1: tug a pretend basket, then roll your hands like rolling fruit. Verses 2 and 3: cover your eyes on 'What's under the leaf?', listen to the clue, guess the fruit, and uncover your eyes on 'Peek-a-boo!'. Bridge: hold one side of a pretend basket with your grown-up and lift together on 'one, two, three'. At snack time, play the guessing game with real fruit: describe one by shape and color and let your child guess.

Chorus

Red, red apple! Yellow banana!
Purple grapes in a bunch!
Orange orange, round and bright,
Fruit for snack and fruit for lunch!
Munch-a-crunch, one, two, three!
Juicy-juicy, one, two, three!
Munch-a-crunch, juicy-juicy... YUM!

Verse 1

Piko tugs and Luma tugs,
Both want the basket. Oh no, drop!
Rolling fruit plays hide-and-seek,
Under leaves... and then they stop.

Verse 2

What's under the leaf? Round and red...
Peek-a-boo! An apple, yay!
What's under the leaf? Long and yellow...
Peek-a-boo! Banana, hooray!

Chorus

Bridge

You take one side, I take one side,
Lift together, one, two, three!
Sharing makes it light and easy,
Fruit for you and fruit for me!

Verse 3

What's under the leaf? Small and purple...
Peek-a-boo! Grapes in a bunch!
What's under the leaf? Round and orange...
Peek-a-boo! An orange for lunch!

Chorus

Outro

Munch-a-crunch, juicy-juicy...
Fruity colors... YUM!
