Rise and Shine: Morning Routine Song

Piko runs for the door in his pajamas with a sock on his head, so Mama Frog and Luma help him remember his morning steps, one by one. A morning routine song for ages 2–5.

Actions: Chorus: stretch up high on 'Rise and shine', count steps on your fingers on 'one by one', and shrug with open hands on 'Can you guess?'. Chant: march on the spot and tick-tock your arms like a pendulum, then jump up on 'GO!'. Verse 1: stretch, pat your head, then rub your hands like washing with soap. Verse 2: pretend to wipe your face, fold your arms like folding pajamas, then pull on pretend socks. Bridge: shout 'No!' to each silly question. Verse 3: pretend to eat with a spoon, then wave and walk to the door. At home, make a picture chart with one drawing for each step, and point to the next picture together.

Chorus

Rise and shine, good morning, sun!
Morning steps, one by one!
What is next? Can you guess?
Step by step, and then we're done!
Rise-and-shine! Tick-a-tock!
Rise-and-shine! Tick-a-tock!
Rise-and-shine... GO!

Verse 1

Stretch up tall and out of bed,
Oops! A sock is on my head!
Potty time, behind the door,
Wash my hands and rinse some more!

Verse 2

Warm washcloth on my face,
Fold pajamas in their place,
Fix my scarf, pull on my socks,
Dressed and ready, tick-a-tock!

Chorus

Bridge

Does my sock go on my head?
No! On my feet, Luma said!
Does my bowl go on my nose?
No! On the table, there it goes!

Verse 3

Breakfast time, the table's set,
Warm oats with apples, nice and slow,
Every morning step is done,
Piko's ready... out we go!

Chorus

Outro

Rise-and-shine... GO!
Same steps again tomorrow!
