Not Afraid of the Dark

Camp-out night! The lantern flower closes, the tent goes soft and blue, and Piko sees a lumpy, bumpy shape. Luma glows like a night-light, and it's just his raincoat and hat. A calm bedtime song about the dark, a night-light, slow breathing and calling a grown-up, for ages 2–5.

Actions: Lights go off: cover your eyes with your hands, then peek out slowly. Same old bed and same old me: pat your tummy. Little glow: open and close your hands softly like a twinkle. Safe and snug: hug yourself. Chant: tap one finger in the air on 'Tink!', then sway slowly side to side and hum 'mmm'. Bridge: sniff a pretend flower (a slow breath in through the nose), blow a pretend bubble (a slow breath out through the mouth), then hug a cuddly toy. Verse 3: sing in a whisper. In the starry 'Again!' round, sing very softly and get cozy.
