One Little Seed (Pumpkin Song)

Piko tries to take the biggest pumpkin home, but it's still growing on its vine! Luma sings the whole pumpkin journey with him, from one little seed to a pumpkin of every shape and size. An autumn sing-along for ages 2–5.

Actions: Chorus: crouch small like a seed, then wind your arms around like a vine, open your hands like a flower and make a big round pumpkin with your arms. Chant: on each 'plunka', reach a little higher, then jump on 'THUMP'. Verse 1: dig, drop, pat, pat, pat, then pop up like a sprout. Verse 2: crawl like a creeping vine, open your hands like a flower and buzz like a bee. Bridge: curl up small and slowly grow bigger and bigger. Verse 3: show big and small with your hands, and point to the colors.

Chorus

One little seed in the ground,
Grows a vine that winds around,
Yellow flower, little green ball,
Pumpkin, pumpkin, big and small!
Plunka, plunka, up we go!
Plunka, plunka, up we grow!
Plunka, plunka, plunka... THUMP!

Verse 1

Dig a hole and drop it in,
Pat, pat, pat, the dirt on top.
Sun and rain, and then, hooray,
Up comes a sprout! Pop, pop, pop!

Verse 2

The vine goes creeping round and round,
Big green leaves all on the ground.
Yellow flowers open wide,
Buzz, buzz! A bee peeks inside!

Chorus

Bridge

Little green pumpkin, grow, grow, grow,
All summer long, nice and slow.
Bigger, bigger in the sun,
Orange now! Hooray, it's done!

Verse 3

Big ones, small ones, short and tall,
Round and bumpy, I love them all!
Orange, white, and even green,
Pick the one that's just for me!

Chorus

Outro

One little seed... plunka, plunka... THUMP!
