Peekaboo! Where Is Piko?

Piko is hiding in the Fern Hideaway and Rumi can't find him, until a wiggling leaf and two little green toes give him away. A gentle peekaboo song for ages 0–4.

Actions: Chorus: shrug with open hands on 'Where did he go?', then cover your eyes on 'One, two, three...', hold still for a moment, and open your hands wide with a big smile on 'PEEKABOO!'. Verse 1: wiggle your hand like a leaf, wiggle your toes, then lift a pretend leaf up high. Verse 2: sway like ferns, then wait... and wait... before the peekaboo. Bridge: tiptoe on the spot and peek left, right and in front. Verse 3: your child covers their eyes and you say 'Where did they go?'; on 'Paws go down' they uncover their eyes. With babies, hide behind your hands or a soft cloth, pause for a moment, and reveal slowly with a happy voice, never suddenly.

Chorus

Where is Piko? Where did he go?
Is he hiding? I don't know!
Still right there behind the leaf,
Wait and look, and peek with me!
Where-oh-where? One, two, three...
Where-oh-where? One, two, three...
PEEKABOO!

Verse 1

Big green leaf is wiggling so,
Two green toes are peeking low,
Rumi lifts the leaf up high,
PEEKABOO! There's Piko! Hi!

Verse 2

Curly ferns go swish and sway,
Is he there? Let's wait and stay.
Wait... and wait... a little more,
PEEKABOO! He's there for sure!

Chorus

Bridge

Tiptoe, tiptoe, soft and slow,
Is he by the log? Oh, no!
Is he by the stump? Oh, no!
Is he in the ferns? Hello!

Verse 3

Now it's Rumi's turn to play,
Paws on eyes... he's gone away?
No! He's still right here with you,
Paws go down... PEEKABOO!

Chorus

Outro

Where-oh-where?... PEEKABOO!
Bye-bye, Piko! I see you!
