Shapes Song: Circle, Square, Triangle

Piko and Luma tug the kite string at the same time, and bonk! The kite lands in a pile of shapes. Count the corners and sides of each piece and help them fix it together. For ages 2–5.

Actions: Chorus: point all around you on 'shapes are hiding all around'; on 'Roundy-round!' roll your hands, on 'Corner-corner!' make pointy fingers, and on 'TA-DA!' throw your arms wide. The echo parts in brackets are for your child to sing back. Verse 1: draw a circle in the air, then show zero corners with a closed fist. Verse 2: count four corners on your fingers, then point to a square window. Bridge: draw a circle, a square (side, side, side, side) and a triangle (one, two, three) in the air. Verse 3: make a triangle roof with your arms over your head, then turn your hands upside down. It is still a triangle! Afterwards, go on a shape hunt at home: plates (circles), square crackers or square tiles (squares), toast cut corner to corner (triangles).
