Jarvis
Jarvis (the WEDGE Method LLC's YouTube publishing client) is the internal tool WEDGE Method LLC uses to publish its own documentary videos to the YouTube channels Source & Pace and Gilt & Graft, which WEDGE Method LLC operates. It uses the YouTube API Services (YouTube Data API and YouTube Analytics API). It runs on a company computer and has no web sign-in.
What it does
- Uploads a finished video to our own channel as private, then adds its English captions, thumbnail and playlist, sets the schedule we chose, and posts a comment under our own video that lists its sources.
- Checks every title, description, chapter list and disclosure before anything is sent (for example: "Made for Kids: No", and "altered or synthetic content: Yes" because our narration is a synthetic voice).
- Makes a video public only after our fact-check audit has passed for that exact file.
- Corrects descriptions and captions of our own older videos when an error is found.
- Reads public comments on our own videos to find reports of factual errors, so we can check and correct them (stored no longer than 30 days).
- Reads our own channels' YouTube Analytics for internal reporting.
- Reads only our own channels' data: requests that would return another channel's data are refused by the code.
After the Arrest Uploads
A second, separate internal tool, After the Arrest Uploads, has its own Google Cloud project and its own sign-in and connects only to our After the Arrest channel. It confirms the channel and, when we publish through it, uploads that channel's videos with the title, description and privacy setting we choose, and reads back their details.
Who can use them
Only WEDGE Method LLC, signed in with the Google accounts that manage our channels. Neither tool is a public service, has a public sign-in, or is sold or licensed to anyone.
